Description
General description
Methylene Blue (MB) is a basic[4] histological dye.[2]
Application
Methylene Blue hydrate has been used:
• in the preparation of methylene blue (MB) solution to stain zymograms[4]
• to label the injection site in the tissue slices[5]
• to pre-treat mice via oral gavage to study its effects on noise-induced hearing loss[6]
Packaging
25, 100, 500 g in poly bottle
Biochem/physiol Actions
Methylene blue (MB) plays a key role in microbiology and pharmacology. It is mainly used in staining live organisms and in methemoglobinemia treatment.[2] MB can be considered as a possible and safe vasoconstrictor.[3] It has several applications in textile, paper and hair coloring sectors.[4]
